Design Beyond Borders serves as the central theme of this conference, responding to the profound challenges of an era marked by rapid global transformation. Today, design is no longer confined to considerations of form and function; it has evolved into a vital nexus that connects diverse knowledge systems, cultural contexts, and technological developments. In the face of climate crises, technological transitions, social fragmentation, and the reconfiguration of values, design is called upon to transcend conventional boundaries and offer more inclusive and forward-looking responses.

Across geography, culture, technology, and human–machine relations, design is redefining the meaning of “borders,” demonstrating unprecedented fluidity and integrative potential. “Beyond borders” signifies not only openness to the unknown, but also a demand for interdisciplinary perspectives and collaborative modes of creation. Through integrative design thinking and collective action, we can foster cross-disciplinary dialogue, stimulate innovation, and rearticulate the social and cultural significance of design in shaping future possibilities.
 

本次會議以《設計跨域：Design Beyond Borders》為主題，回應全球急遽變化下的時代挑戰。當今設計已不再侷限於形式與功能，而是成為連結多元知識、文化背景與科技發展的重要樞紐。面對氣候災難、科技轉型、社會分化與價值重組等議題，設計被期待跨越既有疆界，提出更具包容性與前瞻性的回應。

從地理、文化到技術與人機關係，設計正重新定義「邊界」的意義，展現高度流動性與跨域整合的可能性。「跨域」不僅代表對未知的開放探索，也要求設計者具備跨學科視野與共創能力。透過設計的整合思維與協作行動，我們得以促進跨界對話、激發創新動能，重構設計在當代社會中的文化價值與未來想像。
